Jessica Gatlin is an artist, maker and part-time sorceress based in Baltimore, MD. She received her BFA in Studio Art from Florida State University and MFA from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. She recently joined the Department of Art at the University of Maryland - College Park as Assistant Professor of Print & Extended Media. JG has participated in numerous residencies and fellowships including Ox-Bow School of Art & Artist Residency (Saugatuck, MI), the Fabric Workshop and Museum (Philadelphia, PA), and the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts (Wroclaw, PL).
An interdisciplinary artist, Gatlin takes a speculative approach pursuing ways to deconstruct and destroy a White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy that has rendered her and many others invisible.
